Link Cost

• OSPF allows the operator to assign a cost to each link

• This cost can be hop distance (like RIP) or some other metric:

• • Bandwidth
  • Delay
  • Etc.

• For example, if bandwidth is used, then the cost of a 100 Mbps Ethernet link should be 10 times less than that of a 10 Mbps Ethernet link
