I’m a 40-something guy living in the Chicago suburbs with a great family. I enjoy working out, music, travel, and reading. I spent over 15 years in the IT and telecommunications fields, at places like IBM, US Robotics, 3Com, UTStarcom, and Fastmobile.

For a short time I considered myself an academic and wrote a bunch of papers and patents. I also taught part-time at Northwestern University for several years, and have made my course materials available for free on line.

Currently I’m going to law school, and at a law firm writing patents and advising clients. Most of my work is centered in the areas of software, telecommunications, networking, aerospace, and entertainment. My clients include several well-known and respected large corporations in the US, and a handful of overseas organizations.

If you’re so inclined, you can learn more about me on my Linkedin.com profile. Or you could check out my blog.

One of my main hobbies is music. I run Avant Music News, a new and creative music news site, and administrate Outer Music Diary, a review site. I’m also associated with Gnosis, which is a rather unique rating project. I used to write for Expose.

And, just to be complete, I also administrate my neighborhood association’s website.
